Claire Lyte denies five charges of unlawful sexual activity with Liverpool Crown Court heard evidence at the trial of former tennis pld Claire Lyte, 29, who has been accused of five counts of sexual activity with the girl. Lyte, who at the time taught at the Lawn Tennis Association Academy, denies all the allegations.
The mother of the alleged victim, who cannot be identified, told jurors the coach had offered to babysit for her daughter, whose hairstyle she appeared to be copying. She said the babysitting took place in the months leading up to the incident in Octoberwhen she returned home to find two pairs of tennis shoes outside the girl's bedroom door.

The court heard that the pair came downstairs once they had dressed and that the year-old sat curled into a ball while Lyte held her head in her hands.
They all sat and discussed what had happened for about a couple of hours. My daughter just cried and cried.
The defence refutes the allegations however and argues that they od been invented by the mother, who was upset that the young girl's tennis career was coming to an end. The case continues.
